Nexus Proto

NexiumLabs needed a real-time collaboration engine to underpin future products. Existing open-source options had too much latency at the edge and couldn't handle conflict resolution at scale. We decided to build it ourselves.

Built from first principles: WebRTC for peer connectivity, CRDT for conflict-free data synchronisation, and edge workers for sub-20ms presence propagation. The whole system was architected as an embeddable module — drop it into any product and get real-time collaboration out of the box.

Beta shipped in 6 weeks. Real-time presence and document sync verified across four concurrent test environments. Nexus Proto now forms the collaboration layer in two upcoming NexiumLabs products.
